Hi! I'm Justin. I have been on the food scene in Pensacola for the past four years. As Chef de Cuisine for Agapi Bistro (and prior to that, Skopelos), I created a dining experience pairing local ingredients or dishes with Mediterranean ingredients or dishes - and I loved it. While I take a hiatus from the kitchen to spend some much needed family time, I decided to share my experience in the restaurant industry to find you the best places to eat, shop for ingredients, or meet the professionals behind these.
With over 25 years in food, I have worked every facet of the industry: from fast food to fine dining, country clubs to cruise ships, hospitals to hotels, and more! I have culinary and hospitality degrees from Johnson & Wales in Providence and St. Louis Community College. That means I know a little bit about food. That's right- only a little bit. New ingredients and new techniques show up in kitchens around the world all the time, so I am getting to experience many things for the first time, just like you. Join me as I find all the best that Pensacola has to offer
I've stepped away from restaurants... Its a tough career when you have young children and my boys deserve my time. So I decided that all that time I spent working in a kitchen will now be filled with trying out all the foods Pensacola has to offer: restaurants, shops, farmer's markets, food truck, farms - you name it, I'm gonna eat it - and then I'm gonna tell you what's worth it! Follow my weekly blog of Pensacola food experiences or come for featured recipes, either way, welcome and bon appetit!
